    Cut clutch #1 today

Well I decided to cut clutch #1 today. Day 50. The pairing was MojaveXNormal, 7eggs but one went bad the first week.
I got 2 Mojaves and 4 normals. One of the normals has a mojave pattern and color but turns into normal coloring so thats confusing. These were small eggs so it was hard pinch the egg to cut these. I was a little bit surprised to see that their was barley any yolk left in any egg.

Well heres a quick shot of one of the Mojaves and the whole clutch.

I will put up some more pictures as the babies start getting closer to crawling out the eggs.

    Enjoy!

    Sweet, congrats.

Lets hope the ratio of females to males is better than the mojo to normal ratio.

the only think I see why cuttin theegg ealry may help if a hatchlnig is a little weak to cut it own egg. but outsidethat it just to see what you got. so you can post x number of normals for sell and all that. I know i plan on keeping at least 1 pied by cutting the eggs I can let people that asked for them I have ( say 3) I am willing to sell that will let them get the funds /plans together and either say next time or sure hold one for me.

my understanding is, that if you cut the egg there is less chance of the neonate drowning in its own yolk sac AND you get to see what you have

Normally people cut their eggs to see what they got because when you have eggs your very anxious.

Some good reasons why some people cut their eggs is because when you cut the egg the baby inside starts to breathe air, which makes their metabolism speed up which helps the babies start digesting their yolk faster. Cutting also helps because sometimes you will have a baby that is weak or doesn't have a egg tooth to cut threw the egg. Another good reason is because sometimes a snake can get wrapped around it's own umbilicus cord and drown inside the egg or not be able to absorb it's yolk, so by cutting the egg it insures a higher success rate.
In the end cutting the eggs are solely up to the breeder.

    And thanks everyone so far.
I am also hopping for atleast one of the mojaves to be a female. I still have another clutch from mojave/spiderxnormal, and I have a female pastel bred by a mojave/ spider that should ovulate soon aslong as a couple other females.
