    Cleaning Questions

After removing everything from your bp tanks what are you all using to wipe out /clean your glass tanks? Is water good enough or do I need something stronger? The whole bleach thing kind of scares me a little. Thanks.

    Re: Cleaning Questions

Water will help you scrub away surface dirt, but won't disinfect and is annoying to get out of the tank and dry.
I also dislike the bleach method, it disinfects but you have to let it air out, and I'm always worried about it harming the animals.
I use Virosan. It disinfects, and its safe to come into contact with the animal.

Viniger and water mixed also works with out the bleach thing better than you'd expect too.

    Re: Cleaning Questions

I wonder why not use Hydrogen Peroxide? It is much more effective at disinfecting than bleach.
Lots of BPs, and still not enough!

Hydrogen Peroxide is only good for 2 things removing blood stain on cloth and dying your hair

Doesn't do much when it comes to disinfecting and killing germs and bacteria.

I bleach my enclosures on a regular basis and on a daily basis I use this http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.h...2-00b0d0204ae5

What ratio of vinegar to water do you use?

Where can you get chlorhexidine? Do any stores carry it or is it by order only?

I am actually not sure where you can buy it in stores. I just buy it online in concentrated form. Reptile basics sells some.
