compatability
How can you tell if to types of snake are compatabil for hybradising.
For example a blood python with a ball will give you a superball.

Re: compatability
The only way to know for sure is to give it a go.
So far it seems that just about all snakes within the pythonidae family are likely to be compatible with each other, AND produce viable offspring. This is certainly an oddity within the animal kingdom.
However, just because two species are compatible and can produce viable offspring, doesn't mean that getting them to mate is likely, or even possible. As of yet, I have not heard of artificial insemination for pythons.

Sounds like you are anthropomorphizing.
Or you need better husbandry.
Or both.

Re: compatability
You know, that is not the first time I heard a story like that. A friend of mine used to keep a breeding pair of Burmese pythons, and the female was much older then the male. When she passed away, the male would seem to be searching for her, and literally rubbed it's nose around the enclosure so much it became very scabbed and infected. He bought another female, and he calmed down a little bit, but never bred with her or ever stopped searching, he just searched less intensely.
