    Question Snake poo...

My snake is almost a year old, we feed him either 1 medium "Arctic Mice" or 2 hopper "arctic mice" every sunday. He usually only poops during/after his shed (once every 2 months), and it's about the size of my little finger. He's halfway to a new shed cycle, and pooped last night, and it's as big as my friggin thumb!
Should he be pooping more often? Am i feeding him enough? and why the random huge poo??

Doesn't really sound like that's big enough food for a year old ball python.
I feed my year old ball pythons weanling rats.

You probably want to up the size of the food. Feed something about the same thickness as the thickest point on the snakes body.

Poo size is random, nothing to worry about. He won't starve on his current diet, but he should be able to handle a large mouse by now. The more you feed him, them more he'll poo (and grow).

It looked digested, the mouse was the same as always... his cool hide is about 75 degrees, his warm one is about 87. He's been in his cool hide for a week, then last night was on the warm side... Maybe needed the heat to help him get rid of that huge turd?

I'll step up his food size; should I keep him on a once-a-week diet, or make it more frequent?

You should raise your temperatures a little bit, it may be a little too cold, which might be why it doesn't poop so often. I would raise your hot side to about 93- 90 degrees, and your cold side to 80- 85 degrees.

As long as he is eating, shedding in one piece and pooping once in awhile he is good to go.

Don't worry about the size of the poop as long as it looks like normal poop and isn't runny or anything.
