    Best UTH

What is the best UTH that will cover an area minimum 12" x 8" without costing too much?

I personally prefer the Exo-Terra Desert UTH's because they usually have a higher wattage rating, which works for me in the winter. They come in sizes 8X8, 10X10, and 11X17, that I know of. I have also heard that the Ultra-therms are good and come in more variety of sizes. Reptile Basics has those.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. The hobby seems to weed out the bad products. Other than heat rocks, most people won't buy a bad product and they tend to go away.

You should be fine with any choice you make.

    Good Luck!

The ultratherm and the cobra are the same product. They are arguably the best heat mat out there.

    You could do that.

Ultratherms and Cobras are UL listed and can actually be placed in the enclosure.
