    Timor Monitors Anyone?

So I finally got a decent shot of my blue spot. It took me a couple months before she was comfortable being handled. Anyone else here have one of these guys?

.......................... Had them in the past and HATED them. Timors plain suck as captives. You NEVER, EVER see them when your caring for them right. He is cute though.

I was actually told that when I got this guy but it hasn't been true. He normally hides in the early morning and late afternoon but otherwise is basking or escavating. However, he hates loud noises so will dash for cover at times but usually comes back out.

Not on me. It's 36" by 24" by 24" (she's not full grown yet). Bark background, about 10" of soil on the bottom for burrowing, 12" circular water dish, two bark hides, and a few basking sites.

    Re: Timor Monitors Anyone?

I know my Blue tail could feel me walking across the floor, so a nice piece of 2" foam insulation under the enclosure dampens the vibrations, and an electronic sound generator makes the sound of a burbling stream so there's always slight background noise.

Great idea. Im thinking about getting a second timor and if shes skittish I might try that too. Problem is, it doesnt work for sugar glider noises. Those guys crabbing is what normally startles her. They are loud when they want to be.

The only Blue Spotted I've ran into is a total meanie. He loves the food we give him, but definitely doesn't love us LOL. When I hafta clean out his enclosure I gott pick him up with gloves in a secure way. He can be pretty aggressive, and I'm glad he hasn't tried shooting poo at me.
