Angry Could have lost my job over this...

Yeah, I lost my temper with a customer and could have lost my job the other night. A few months ago this man brought in a bag, obviously by the looks of it it had a rather large snake in it. He said he could no longer keep it, he set it down and just walked out before I could get his information.

    This snake had.
    1. Mites.
    2. 2 Layers of stuck shed, and he was IN shed agian.
    3. Severly under-weight (this animal was 6ft long and as skinny as my wrist, which is pretty small)
    4. He had RI.
    5. Incredibly weak, and dehydrated.

We had to get the animal put down, the vet said he hadn't seen a snake in this bad of condition in years and he was already to far gone to really try anything to nurish him back to health. I started crying, it was horrible.

Anyways. This man, who dropped the snake off just happened to come into my work just as I clocked out. I don't get intimadated easily, and mind you this man was 6'3 and a good 250lbs pounds of muscle. He seen me coming and he just smiles and says "Hows the snake doing" All I could say was "Are you KIDDING ME, what is WRONG with you?" I went OFF, I don't normally have a mean bone in my body but I chewed him apart. My manager had to come over and pull me into the back room as that pathetic piece of trash just stood there trying to stare me down with a smirk on his face.

Nothing deserves to be treated that way, these animals rely on us to take care of them. I don't understand how someone could do such a thing.

Thats awful, I cant believe he even had the cojones to come back and ask about it after the fact. He was probably hoping he could get it back. Did he not realize he could have been charged with animal cruelty?

I dont blame you for going off on him, no matter the laws of 'customer service'. Good for you, even if he probably wont learn from it.

He derserved what you have him and plenty more. How dare he show his face again. I know that jobs are scarce, but he brought out a rage in you that could not be avoided. You may have risked losing a job, but that animal was abused as lost its life needlessly. Thats worth a good chewing out in my book.

Thanks guys, yeah, my boss said that even though I shouldn't have lost my temper expecially in front of other customers the guy deserved it. Even the customers who were watching had their mouths open in shock. I was shaking SO BAD. He better not show his face agian in my store.

You should have gotten his info when he came back in and then told him you would be reporting him for starving and neglecting the pet. Maybe the idea that the police would charge him with cruelty to animals would scare him.

Understandable to be that angry over the cruel treatment of a pet. Glad your boss understood.

You should have ripped his balls off and asked him how he felt..
That'd piss off any animal lover. I'd tell the boss to walk off because if he didn't really give a donut he doesn't deserve to even own the store.

When people bring in animals we are supposed to take down all their information, and as I was going back to get the sheet that day one of the other employees said he just set the bag down and just walked right on out. There was nothing I could have done when he came back in, all I can do is make sure he doesn't buy any animal from our store.

Glad you have a cool enough boss to back you on this. The smuck deserved soooo much more than just you yelling at him but hopefully you making him look like a scumbag in front of all those other customers comes back to bite him in the butt.
