Tank Idea - Thoughts?
So i am planning on getting a new ball next week. I currently have a very young ball and plan on getting another young one. I was thinking of getting a 20gL tank and getting some Plexiglas and splitting the tank into two 10s. Do you think this would be possible to split the tanks yet still keep the temps good? I was going to put UTH's on opposite corners and do the same with lights. For the Plexiglas i would put a barrier in silicone to prevent them from getting over the top to each other. Of course when they get a little bigger, the silicone could be removed and the tank made into one 20gL for one of them.

Sounds good to me! Tubs are a bit easier to keep, but splitting a 20gL wouldn't be a bad idea.
Remember, lamps suck out humidity, and Ball Pythons don't require any special lighting. So, I wouldn't be too worried about having a lamp over the tank. If you do though, I would suggest putting aluminum foil over 70-80% of the tank lid so that it traps the humidity inside.

i do not think it is a good idea, think of quarantine, also while housing them together if one gets sick they both get sick. try tubs. i loved my tanks cuz u can watch them, but with tubs everything is easier and with the right tubs u can still watch them
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

Oops, I tend to assume that people will QT new arrivals. Although, if one of them were to get sick you wouldn't have a problem finding out which one since they're separated. BUT, it would put your other BP at high risk for getting the same illness since they would be housed so close together.
After you QT, I think the tank idea would be fine.

If this person splits the tank with a divider, that is not considered housing them together.
OP: As long as you quarantine your second animal putting them in a divided 20g should be no problem.

I don't know that I would use a clear divider between the two snakes. Something they can't see through would be the way I would go personally, to avoid stressing them out being able to see each other all the time. Other than that I love this idea! Post pics if you do it, I think it could be a really cool way to display them.

You mentioned that when they get bigger you would just remove to divider. But I dont agree with housing two bp's together like that. I think BP's should always be seperated for reasons mentioned above and the risk of one dominating the other and even eating the other (though this is not common). And a 20gal for two BP's is much too small in my opinion. Maybe you ment seperating them at that point and keeping one in the 20 gal?

The OP says in the original post that they will only put one snake per tank.
