Most big box pet store workers are not well educated (there are some that are, but they are the needle in the haystack).
I suggest you take a look at our care sheet, http://ball-pythons.net/modules/Sect...warticle&id=59 if you haven't yet and then judge how your set up is accordingly. The big box pet stores will try to sell you a lot of things you don't need, and NOT sell you a lot of the things you do. (like a thermostat).
You'll also want to give him 7 full days of no handling to settle into his new home.
Welcome to snake ownership, they are addicting!

Very addicting. We have only had it for a little over 2 weeks and Im already looking at the different morphs, wondering which on I should get next. But I dont think I will ever get into breeding, just want to enjoy them.

They are great snakes to enjoy.
I highly recommend getting any other snakes from a reputible breeder though. Avoid the big box pet stores. There is a feedback forum here, and there is also the board of Inquiry (BOI) on www.faunaclassifieds.com this can help you see what breeders are good and which ones have had problems. You can even see if breeders are local to you so you can pick up your animal (depending on the breeder that is).
Good luck with him.

Got a Baby P here....Not feeding, I dont know about the snake, but I am getting stressed. Petco says it was eating F/T weekly on Sundays. (not sure if this is the truth). And fuzzies at that. Got advice on here to maybe go live and hoppers. Will do what I have to, to get this baby to eat.
Also not sure if male or female? going to look into that

A Reptile Vet can tell you that easily That's one thing that bugs me about the big chains, the ones I have dealt with do not sex the snakes. You either have to be able to do this on your own or settle for not knowing till after you buy it and take it to someone who can.
