personally speaking I would just use the betadine.....the neo will not allow the scales to breathe...so to speak. You want it to get allot of air. Also be sure to keep her on paper towels at least for the time being.

By the way...I sooooooooooo hope you are right about the eye....I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and your snake.

unfotunatly i was wrong.. i deff spoke way to soon. the doc was right her eye is beginning to dry up and eventually it will fall out. as for the cleaning solution i got povidone iodine 10%.. is that ok to use (just double checking)

Oh wow. I just read this entire thread and I am appalled at that other vet. Not picking at a snakes eyes should be common sense. Just to comment on that and give some future advice.. I have never attempted to remove retained eyecaps. My cure for this problem 100% of the time has always been bacitracin ointment. A dab on each eye once a day from the start of a shed cycle until the snake sheds. Then the retained cap cames off on its own.

Well, I am glad the snake is ok. For the scale problem drop the humidity a little while until it is gone. The bacitracin trick will work to insure the good eye releases the eye cap if you need to keep the snake a little more dry right now. Warm soaks and a rub with a wet cloth for stuck sheds.

wow, that sux. im sorry. atleast she will continue to live and be happy, it shouldnt affect her too much
