Which saw blade?
Hi everyone!
I'm thinking about building a small rack for my future BP's. I have a lot of melamine in the basement that I got free. These pieces will need to be cut. I have a circular saw, but I was wondering what blade do you use for melamine?
Thanks,
Dave

Highest tooth ATB or HiATB that you can find, a negative hook is always a plus.

Re: Which saw blade?
There are blades specifically for cutting melamine. Be sure you get one. Any hardware store should have them. Wear goggles too, that stuff gets everywhere when you start cutting, especially with a handsaw.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Re: Which saw blade?
Thanks for for the info!
I'll go to Lowe's or HD and pick one up! I going to a local show Feb. 13th and I plan on picking up a couple of females. A Mojave and a Pastel or Pinstripe. So I need to get this done soon!
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Which saw blade?
Also another good tip is to cover the area of the board you want to mark with that blue painter's tape. Mark the board, cut the board, pull the tape and you have a really clean board without any pencil marks on it. A second function of the tape is it helps to prevent the splintering of the board when you cut it.

Also with the circular saw you want the side that will be the most seen faced down. The circular saw will chip the top more than the bottom.
