Tanks size for an adult carpet python?

I have a 55 (48x12x19) and 75g (48x18x20) both empty, one of them i want to setup as a reef tank, the other i'd like to get a carpet python for. question is, what tank size will the carpet python require? or will neither of those do? i've heard they vary in size depending on the morph but im not sure. i really have no idea what exact morph id like to get so im open to options.

    thanks guys!

They're not morphs like ball pythons or leopard geckos. They are different subspecies and each varies slighty. Carpets can get up to 10 feet but 7 or 8 is more common. The smallest is the irian jaya which stays in the 4-5 foot range. Do some research and find what you like best. I have my JCP in a 4x2x1 from repti-racks. Many people will tell you that carpets are really arboreal, but thats not entirely true. A foot high enclosure if fine for an adult carpet.

Go there. They have beautiful snakes there and have a great overview of the different carpets.

the 75 gallon is a fine size for one... you'll want to figure out a way to cover the top so as to keep some humidity in there though.

while carpets are not arboreal, they will climb and utilize any height you give them... in my opinion, 12 inches is not enough head room for an adult carpet. that's just me though... all my adults have 2' tall cages.
