Question about phases??
Hi, I have ball pythons and am very interested in getting a tree python, and I found someone locally who has an "orange phase" amazon tree boa and I would really like to know what phases mean...Is he going to continue to go through phases? Or is it a specific color? Any help is appreciated. thanks much!!

Re: Question about phases??
The "phase" is just the color/pattern that the animal happens to show. So orange phases are just orange amazons, as opposed to a garden phase, or any other designer line. Once they develop their adult pattern and color, they will not change

If its orange as a baby, it will be orange as an adult.

Re: Question about phases??
OHH, okay, so whatever color they are as an adult....that is the phase they are as a young snake...so I saw an orange phase amazon, but it looked very muddy and gray with some orange as well...as an adult...will it shed its muddier colors and emerge into a bright orange snake? Or will it go through phases as an adult as well?

It will be the same color it is now, as an adult. I hope this helps.

Re: Question about phases??
Look @ it like this : phases is like a morph in BP world.
Garden phase , Orange phase. These are certain patterns and colors of the ATB
u are talking about a 'TREE PYTHON' ....which would be a green tree python
an orange phase ATB would be a AMAZON TREE BOA.
hope some of this info help!

Re: Question about phases??
In the op post there was a question about boa's but pythons are also mentioned. If your talking Amazon Tree boa, garden phase is the more brownish/ gray colored snake. Halloween phase can have multi colors. While these may be super bright in infants, not all colors in boa's stay that bright as they grow.
Something you should know is that the Amazon Tree Boa is not much like a Ball Python. while some people do get them to a tame state and handle them for the most part they have a naughty disposition, or can have. I have two, they are beautiful and I love them but I don't take them out and snuggle with them like I do my Ball Pythons who can be real sweet and lovey dovey.
Most people who have A.T.B.'s love their attitude, including myself. They are, like I said, beautiful snakes. Just different from a Ball Python, generally.

when someone says phase basically take it the same as the word morph.
