    My Herpstat II has...

My Herpstat II doesn't have grounded connectors... When I originally got it I was looking at the regular ones and they had options for grounded and night drop. I saw that the Herpstat II had night drop built in and assumed that grounded plugs were standard too. Assuming does one thing...

I had some flexwatt plugged into it but didn't notice. I got some more ball pythons and needed more active heat tape so I was going to plug in surge protector strip and that's when I noticed. Thankfully it has three plugs per setting. If I had wired in parallel it wouldn't be a problem but I wired them separately so I could heat levels as I needed them.

Right now I have 11 tubs crammed where there should only be 9...

    Just frustrated.

Just break the ground pin off of the power strip.

I agree just break the ground off. The flex watt doesn't need it anyway.

Or you can spend 50 cents at walmart/lowes/menards and get one of the adapters. It just eliminates the ground. In most cases you do not need the ground with flexwatt. However, if the flexwatt is in a metal rack system it does need to be grounded because of shock risk if the flexwatt ever shorted to the rack. Also the pulsing of the electricity through the heat tape on a metal rack can sometimes cause a small amount of voltage wirelessly to the metal (EMI or something like that). With the rack grounded you won't get shocked but if ungrounded you can sometimes get a tingle.
