New Incubator
I didn't know where else to put this (I guess it could have gone in DIY, but it really isn't an instructional), but I thought this would work. This is what has been taking up most of my time in the recent past. It is the latest in neverending snake construction. It is not completely done, but it has come a long way since the first pics I poted. It still needs a thermostat and some heat, and I still plan to put in some type of work station. My friend Sean suggested a fold out counter, and that might be what happens. After that, I need to transport all of my incubation containers from the old one to the new one. Without further ado, here are the pics.
The firest pic is the entry door.
This pic is looking through the door into the incubator.
I will post some more pics after the thermo and heat are in, along with the fan to circulate air, the tubs are in and the tools are cleaned out. I hopefully will start testing the incubator and tweaking in about 1 month.
Thanks for looking,

What did you use on the walls? It looks shiny... some type of insulation?

Re: New Incubator
Thanks for all of the compliments everyone. Hopefully I can take a pic later this summer with it full of eggs.

We will be running a 1500 watt oil filled heater controlled by a Helix 1500 watt system with an auto-dialer (to call us if the temps get too high or low) and a fan in the back corner to keep the air moving and hence stabilizing temps from top to bottom.

Thanks for the compliment. We insulated the walls with standard R-13, then covered them with 1/2 inch plywood, and then covered the plywood with 1/2 foil coated styrofoam insulation. I still have to tape the seams, but that is still on the agenda. We turned the white side in, to help reflect more light, and thus allow better spread of light from one fixture.
I didn't want too many fixtures, as you can't leave the light on when you are not in it, or the ballast will overheat the room. So, the fewer ballasts I had in the room, the easier it would be to control temps
