I have a question about racks and flexwatt

I am building a 9 tub rack using vision v35 tubs.
    http://www.visionproducts.us/htm7/tubs.html

I will be using flexwatt (across their width) to heat them.
what size would be best to use?
    3", 4" or 11" ?
    thank you very much

    That size tub use 4"

I never use anything but 4" on all tubs. 11" can be used mainly for back heat or on adult tubs if needed.

With that room temp it dont matter if rack is open or closed. 4" flexwatt will be perfect.

starting with that room temp i would go with 3" 6 watt flexwatt, the 10 watt (3") is overkill and can reach temps of around 150 degrees unregulated.

have you considered putting the tubs sideways so you could put two 12-15qt. tubs in a opening? more flexability if needed.have fun!

All flexwatt gets too hot unregulated

I agree that 3 or 4 inch would work fine "regulated"

i should have clarified that by "unregulated" i meant if the thermostat should fail.

any kind of flexwatt will work BUT if there is a thermostat failure you don't want to be way over powered,i'm surprised more herpers don't grasp this simple concept.have fun!

    I grasped that concept
I was hoping you'd expound on it is all, you make a very good point to those who don't know.

3" is plenty, the ambient temp in the room is 90% there already
