What exactly are you trying to say EVY? Really....BG wants to know whether you think it's because of Andrew or what he had to say.

No, no, no, Andrew was great. He was a ton more patient and nice than I would've been, that's for sure!

Highly recommend everybody take the time to listen to this. I do have one question though. He mentioned setting up an in person meeting with our senators. How do we go about doing that? Is it as simple as calling their local office and setting up a time? I didn't think they would give the time to a regular citizen.

Senators will be back home for Christmas break and it is as easy as calling and scheduling a meeting. You may or may not be able to meet with them in person, but meeting with a staffer is not a bad thing as all. It is 10 times more powerful to meet with a staffer then writing a letter. Don't get me wrong, still write, e-mail and call, but try to get a meeting with your senator, but take any in person meeting you can get. You will find they are very nice about trying to help out. Thanks, Brian(BHB)

Why? They are there to represent their constituents and need to be available to meet with them when they can.
I did call both of my senators' offices yesterday and both offices told me that they don't know yet what their holiday schedules will be, because they're being told to expect to stay through Christmas in DC for one of the Healthcare votes.
So, it may be that you just get a meeting with a staffer. It was Friday afternoon when I called - and one office had me call his "scheduler", but I got her voicemail and left her a message. The other had an online form to request an appointment.
I'm working to gather several GA herpers for us to go in together to speak to our senators. Each of us having an important point that we want to cover and ask them question - are they aware of the bill, what is their understanding of the bill, have they decided yet how they plan to vote? And so on. Thanks to Adam for tips on some of those questions too.
