    Question Trimming Nails?

I want to trim my Beardie's nails because they are pretty sharp and long. It hurts really bad when she's trying to move around and stuff so I want to really clip her nails. I know I'm supposed to bathe her first to make the nails softer, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to clip the nails or file them down.

My Beardie's nails are black on the top of it, so I'm not sure where the vein is.

I had meant to say animal btw.

Snip off the very tops of them.

Alright will do. So should I snip off the black tips where they separate from the white part of the nail, or only cut off a little bit of the black part so that there is some black coming off of that white part of the nail?
