Pics of my 06' 0.1 SD Retic

I must say this girl is by far my all time favorite out of the entire collection. I am now in love with a snake Retics have always been my favorite but it would be hard for me to house a snake so large, so when I found out they come in a smaller size I started looking for the perfect one.. Well here she is!

She is so yellow I am wondering if she is a dwarf or a super x dwarf which makes more sense. She was sold to me as a SD. She is 3 years old and 5 feet so she may get bigger but if i breed her it will be to a more obvious SD to keep the size below 7 feet. ... Enjoy!

Awsome SD. They are the perfect solution to the retic size problem. I love retics but the size has just been a huge turnoff. Now im just waiting for SD morphs to become a little less expensive so i can get some. Ive seen tiger and fires but nothing else. I have a yearling male and hes awsome. I cant wait for him to get bigger. Its going to be awsome whens hes around 5 or 6 feet. I have seen some males get 7.5 which i wouldnt mind. I think 10 feet is the limit for me right now. But who knows.

I used to think that, but I've since revised my limit to 80lbs.. that allows for plenty of length beyond 10ft for many snakes.

Thats funny, because to me, their size is a large part of the equation.

Wow your little guy IS pretty! we migh need to hook these 2 up When the SD first became available they were much darker with a smaller head. Im wondering if they have bred that out of them by crossing them with the dwarf? My girl could breed this season but she has no boyfriend yet so she will need to wait.

The thing is, I love the large snakes. I used to handle a friends 19 ft burm and 14 ft conda years ago. I just couldnt properly house anything that big. I have no basement and your typical 3 BR ranch. My snake room is just a 10x15 spare BR. Full of snakes & 3 different types of rodents. But if I ever was able to get a bigger house with more land you bet id have some giants. Oh and bloods! My other favorite

Oh she has a wonderful temperment. Very fast when she wants to be. Its funny how she acts in her tub. She has a great feeding response so when I open the tub she pops her head out, then back in. I pull it out just a bit more & she pops her head out again, then back in.. She had me laughing so hard when I saw this. Once you have her out she is fine tho. Has a very good grip on you & will cut off blood supply if she thinks she may fall, but she just explores and crawls all over you.

Yeah, my SD is much darker than both of yours. He is pure SD though so i do think alot of the SD's have been crossed with dwarfs. I have seen alot of het albino SD's that were a super x dwarf cross. And ive also seen some super jamps. If i was to breed i think i would try to find a pure SD. But i do like the lighter ones. I would just be worried of having a 14ft dwarf retic instead of expected 6ft SD. Haha. I think the trait tends to show more in the F2 generation if they are crossed. I may be wrong though.
