    Staying in the game :)

I am happy to say, that I am not getting rid of my collection after all. I am keeping my three breeder females, and my Spider male, and his son (the light Spider that I produced.)

I had some worries about money, and about space.. But I worked it out. I am using newspaper substrate (free) and I am making some sacrifices to feed my snakes weekly; it is not too painful to sacrifice a pizza or some other unnecessary thing for myself. And of course I have the credit card for any vet emergencies that could arise.

Life here in CA is a far cry from what we had in NY, of course. No more huge colonies of breeder rats or easy access to farm stores for rat feed. Now it is us, in a little studio apartment, but I made room for my snake rack and things are going fine. My collection gives me something happy to come home to every night, and I am very glad that circumstances are not making me sell all of them off.

Thanks for being fellow BP lovers.. these snakes can help keep you sane and are definately something that is helping me through these crazy times!

    Thanks!
I do want to say; BPs make a great pet, for people in small apartments. I was thinking; if these were dogs, or birds, or ferrets; things would be insane in this small space. But my snakes just sit quietly in their rack, day in and day out..
(of course, I am talking about apartments that allow snakes!)
