Last I heard at a local show this weekend was that they were revising it to include only retics, burms, anacondas and boa constrictors.

Somehow, I doubt that. Boa constrictors over African Rocks...?
I also would like to know what's going on. I keep looking everywhere online, but there is absolutely nothing. Even the government pages haven't updated the bill status since November 6 (or even June/July, for some of them). I'm kind of concerned that neither a boastful HSUS nor an ecstatic USARK have mentioned anything....

So lets recap shall we?
First it was introduced as all pythons
second was supposedly revised for only burmese pythons and then african rocks were added
Then when the time comes down it STILL includes all pythons and they now want to add boas.
And now someone is telling you its going to be revised to only include retics, burms, anacondas, and boas?
If so why would they leave out rocks when the hsus woman made such a big deal that retics were left out of it.

So will current owners of African Rock's be forced to give up their pets? Or will current owners AFROCK's be grandfathered in?
Even the fully automatic firearms ban of 1986, those with fully automatic arms were still allowed to keep, trade, and sell them. Buyers had to obtain a Class 3 license and state/county approval and ATF tax stamp to be able to purchase any made 1986 and earlier.
They cant possibly say "Get rid of the ones you have, now... or else."

***breathes a sigh of relief****
Well, they I was reading over that bill for the past few minutes. Apparently, its not technically a complete ban. You'll just a permit to own one and training, and likely have it microchipped. I'm sure the permit wont be cheap, but at least its not a total ban.
And, yeah, your right, looks like anyone who currently has one would not have to apply to these rules, only potential buyers/traders.

Does anyone have real information? The last I heard, and I have been following this pretty closely, the bill was revised to apply only to Burmese, African Rock, and Indian Pythons.
That is where it stood when it was debated at the Hearing.
