So I hear this strange noise at work...

Im sitting at work & I keep hearing this strange rustling noise in the corner. I get up a few times walking around trying to figure out what the noise is. Everytime I do, the noise stops...

After about an hour of this I finally figure out the noise is coming from the garbage can in the corner. I go over very slowly to look inside & there is a field mouse staring back at me!

It wont let me get a picture of it. Ive tried. It just keeps darting under the garbage whenever I walk by but I thought it was funny. All I could think of is what a lucky mouse that is to not be snake food!

Now I know for sure winter is coming if the mice are already inside.

Well the mouse is still there. Im beginning to think it cant get out. I saw it trying to jump up the side of the garbage can but it hid when It saw me. Im not going to play in the garbage for the sake of a field mouse but how in the world can I help it get out? It will thrown out when the garbage is picked up in the morning.

Try placing the garbage can at an angle without dumping out the garbage.

Or you could fill up the garbage can more so it can climb up enough to jump out.

P.S. It might actually be happier in the garbage truck with all that garbage food. :]

Could always take the dumpster outside and dump it out to let him go.

This is a huge garbage can & im no where near the dumpster. I think they actually drive the can in a truck in the mornings to the back of the plant where the dumpster is.

Im going to see if I can just lean it against the wall so it can get out. It probably would be happier with all that food but what if its a compactor truck?? OUCH!

    Hi,

Or put something in the can it can climb up like a piece of rope hung over the rim or a bit of scrap wood.

Or just fill it up with so much rubbish that it would be able to jump the rest of the distance and escape.

Or you could put in a mouse trap so that he wont do any damage throughout your office? Think about the mites, fleas or even worse, the other nasty parasites it is more than likely carrying around with it!
