    Coconut Husk is Awesome!!!

I am now switching to coconut husk. It has increased humidity levels by 25%. If you are having humidity problems switch to it. I battled with a consistant humidity level of 40% with repti-bark. But now with coconut husk, it's at 65%. Me very happy!

    Re: Coconut Husk is Awesome!!!

There's one person around who had repeated instances of skin infections using coconut husk.
The problem is that it's damp. A high humidity is necessary, but so is dry bedding.

    I agree with WingedWolfPsoin.

There are other ways to raise your humidity other then having wet bedding.

I'll keep a close eye on it. I've tried all of the ways suggested on this site to increase humidity with only moderate success. Coconut hask has proven the most effective. If I run into problems, I will post it to warn everyone. Until then....Coconut Husk is great.

I'm going to soon purchase a second humidifier for my snake room. The current one just isn't doing the job well enough. I keep my snakes on newspaper, and spray them when they are opaque.

Could you not mix bedding types? Well, not literally, but. I use aspen, and would it not help if you covered patches of the enclosure floor, instead of the whole thing, with coconut husk?

That stuff is rather expensive for an entire enclosure floor..
