Clay recipe for hides - can it be used for waterbowl as well?
http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=77863
In that post, it gives a recipe for home-made hide which is super duper cool. Now, with the waterproofing, can this be used for a water bowl as well?

Thanks! That was fun to do!
Unfortunately, I have not found a waterproofing agent cost effective enough to work. It eventually gets soggy. It's cheaper to buy a ceramic bowl (so far, but I'm still looking!)

Also, go to Ikea and get the dog bowls, they can be covered in that clay and used as a water bown and a hide because of the handles on the bottom. That's what i'm planning on doing, anyway.
Edit: check out the backrounds that people make for fishtanks, they use clay or something similar over foam and then they HAVE to waterproof it in a safe way that the water doesn't poison the fish.

I say Ramikins too. I worked in a restaraunt as well and I get the same strange looks.
