Rheostat + Acurite, getting things ready for the new lesser

Alright, I have the Acurite in the tub, under the paper right over the heat mat. But this dimmer is not my friend... It's a sliding one, meaning it sticks and when you slide it you tend to move it too far.

I finally got it to 91 degrees, now and last night it was at around 85, does this sound like a good spot to have it? Mind that this is a very young snake and the box I am going to keep it in is fairly small, unlike my actual tubs which I let the hottest point hit around 93 degrees (set to just shy of 95 on my herpstat).

If this is fine I am going to move the probe to the other side and then check and see if it is okay on that side (80s).

If your house varies on temperature, you need to set it to night/day temps, mark it with a marker then put a piece of tape over it so it doesn't smear, and then adjust it accordingly.

You're supposed to have a night drop any way, aren't you? Lol, I've always had my snakes drop about 3~5 degrees at night.

It's a toss up, I keep my temperatures the same day and night. Night time drops aren't bad, just don't let them drop too much.

I know, lol. But my goal for the temps is to make sure they are neither too hot nor too cold since he'll be in there for like three months, lol.

I think the 85 should be okay for the nights, but 91 isn't going to be too hot is it?

Actually right now we're up to about 93.
