"9" the movie
Tim Burton does it again... I just saw this last night, and it was so beautifully done. Every detail, I mean EVERY detail, was tweaked to perfection!! Anybody see this?
One thing I was thinking after the movie... I think the 9 dolls represent 9 different parts of the scientist's personality. Maybe that was obvious, I don't know. I thought maybe the female character was his wife's influence on him, or maybe just a more feminine part of his personality? And then, what do the cataloging twins represent?
What did you guys think? (and I can't WAIT to see Alice in Wonderland!!)

Re: "9" the movie
I dunno, I saw it two nights ago and I had a very different feeling from it. I thought that the animation was down right horrible during some scenes (can't think of them off the top of my head but i remember being appalled when i saw it). Coming after movies like Coraline this year the movie was disappointing. I was really looking forward to it too, my friend who is a manager at a local was even holding one of the posters for me. It was an amazing idea, I loved it, but it just didn't go deep enough into the story... not to mention Elijah Wood's voice ruined 9's character... Should have gone with Jake Gyllenhaal, just a little less feminine sounding for a character who is supposed to be inquisitive yet brave

Re: "9" the movie
Just wanted to point out that Tim Burton didn't direct 9. It was Shane Acker. I believe Burton either produced it or just bankrolled it, I forget which. I would suggest looking up the short film that Shane Acker made back in 2005 that this movie is based on. Pretty awesome.

Re: "9" the movie
I enjoyed the movie. No, it wasn't the best movie ever, but I liked it. I thought the visuals were stunning, the machines were fascinating (I loved the cobra), and I liked the different characters (the different parts of the scientist's psyche). They don't give out much information, so a lot of stuff has to be figured out by the viewers, but I like that.
I didn't like Elijah Wood as the lead voice, either. It was too jarring.

Tim Burton produced it, Shane Acker directed it.
I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. It was cute, it had a good story but there was just something missing from it. I didn't mind paying for the tickets, I thought it was worth it.

Wow, I'm surprised so many people were not impressed by it. I thought it was awesome. To each his own I guess.
