    Technical Hatch Date

This may seem like a dumb question, but I wanted to see how others view their hatch date.

To me it seems like it should be when the snake fully emerges from the egg.

So onto my question. Do you reference your hatch date by pip or by full emergence from the egg?

    Re: Technical Hatch Date

See I'm different. Since I don't take all the animals out of the egg box till they all come out, I down write the "Hatch date" down untill I take them all out and set them up in a box to shed. Its normally only a few days difference so it's really not enough to matter in the long run.

I do the same thing. I use the day that they are all out of the eggs as the hatch date.

    Re: Technical Hatch Date

Me too. My records might indicate date of pips and so forth in the comments area but the official hatch date for the entire clutch is the date the last hatchling fully emerged from the egg.

    Re: Technical Hatch Date

Same here. I use the date that the babies are put into seperate tubs, which is once the last baby is out.

    Re: Technical Hatch Date

Appreciate the input. It makes sense.

I can stop thinking about it now!!! (and believe me, when something gets stuck in my head it won't go away until my curiosity is satisfied.

    Cheers!
