If it was squid ink I'm surprised it didn't have much effect on the flavor. It's basically just a bit salty but is primarily used just to add color. It's strikingly dark and beautiful when used right.
I can't see it helping a fast food burger though. It's still a fast food burger.
So I'm not surprised you weren't impressed.
