Fancy Rat with lice

A coworker was talking to us about her daughters fancy rat having lice - treatments that work please?

Provent a mite will work, just need to be used the same way it is used with snakes (remove everything, spray the cage and bedding let dry)

I dilute 1 bottle of Nix Cream Shampoo in 1 gallon of water to prevent/treat mites in snakes. I wonder if something similar would work on the rat? I spray the diluated mixture on my snakes and in their enclosures.

Rats get lice? Like human lice? Huh, learn something new everyday.
