You know I have never seen a ball python actually basking. I've seen them sit on top of their hides, but every time I had an over the tank heater they never came out to bask in the light.

Also I'd offset it so that the lamp hits the midground between the warm and cool sides.

    I wouldn't worry too much.

I don't think a light is necessary if your temps are OK. I'm sure he comes out when you are sleeping ;) BP's spend a lot of time in their hides.

When did he last eat? I ask this because after mine eat they retreat to their hides to digest and I don't see them for a few days :D

I wouldn't recommend using Windex at all :colbert:

I use a bleach solution - 1 Gal of water mixed with 1/4 cup of bleach. An empty CLEAN milk jug works well to store the solution and you can fill up a spray bottle. Spray down the tank with the bleach solution and let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then wipe it dry and rinse with water as many times as necessary - until you can no longer smell bleach. If you smell bleach RINSE IT WITH WATER AGAIN :D
Let it dry completely before putting anything back into the enclosure.

I only see my bp come out of her hide when she is hungry. Don't be worried if you don't see your bp for a few days. They love hiding.
