Snyder having a lovely bath, just starting out with her soak.

Still not moving much a few minutes later, but a little perkier.

"Hmm ... wonder what's up there?" Perking right up (whew!).

Making a break for it ... her first escape attempt!

Not such a good idea to go this way ...

A much better place to escape to!

Thanks, I'm rather fond of her myself. I'm just glad she's perky enough to escape her bath. And so far, no regurg on the mouse, so that's a relief, too. You can see in the pic where she's draped over the table edge that she's still too skinny and dehydrated, but I am determined to save this snake.

You're doing a great job Marla. All Synder needs is your tender loving care. I may have missed it somewhere, Do you know how long she is and her weight?

Thanks, Thump. She's about 22" (it's been several days since I measured her but she just ate yesterday), and weighed 110 grams at the vet on Friday. Hopefully with all the soaking and yesterday's little meal that's up a bit.

i was going to say that snake looks a lil thin
i was unaware that it was a rescue
i've been away from this site the past 2 weeks i've just been so darn busy with everything!!

pimp_n, she's not actually a rescue, just a poorly-selected pet shop snake that was my birthday present. But I'll be darned if I'm going to just let her die on me. She has a great temperament -- or maybe it's just the lethargy -- and anyway, I hate to see a sick snake.

Yup, that's a skinny girl. Sounds like she's in good hands and will probably pull through just fine.
It'll be nice to see more pics as she fills out and then be able to compare them to the way she was.
Good luck with her it's nice to see a needy animal get the attention it deserves :D

Thanks, Steelsack (and everybody) for the vote of confidence. I have to say, my entire household is checking her out every time someone walks past the tank -- "The humidity's down to 48! Should I do something?" and being very helpful. I hate to disturb her today, as she just ate last night, but the vet insisted on daily soaks so I'll be bothering her in a bit for her bath. She flipped back upright quickly when I lay her on her back last night (before feeding), so the neuro symptoms seem to be getting better. I may drop by my office next weekend for a quick weighing on the postal scale to make sure she's gaining.
