    Gaboon Viper at the San Diego Zoo
    My kids and I were visiting the zoo the other day and saw this beautiful Gaboon viper staring at us. All I had for a camera was my iPhone, but I was pretty pleased with this shot.

    beautiful creature. was that thing as huge as it looks in the picture? because in the picture it looks like it good swallow a small person...:D

    It seems they grow to about 6' but considering that they all look like really full body animals they show that 6' the way people imagine a 6' snake would look, haha.

    They're truly gorgeous animals. I wish the one at the DC zoo didn't look so sickly so I could get beautiful pictures of it.
