Which morph of these should i get?
Hello so a breeder near me has 2 ball pythons he has a Banana and a lesser pastel and i want one and was wondering if these morphs were good in breeding like producing very good hatchlings with better morphs and i already have a spinner so i would like to choose the one that would get good hatchlings with that and also which one will be worth the money and i dont mean cheapest as money isnt problem for me at the moment just what would i get more from for my money and better looking snakes.

Photos are more help than just the name of the morphs.....
Quality of the morph will result in quality in the clutch.

I'd say either one would work, as far as price wise I would think they are roughly equivalent, depends on which morph you want to work with. I like to go on Morphmarket.com and look up combos to see what they would look like, for example, I just picked up an albino pied. If you work albino into any other gene it just makes it look like a muddy orange snake, not really that impressive. I'll probably just stick with the albino pieds. Personally I like the banana / coral glow combos the best, the coral glow spider is one of my favorites. Personally I'd get the banana, I like it better in other combos. Also, if you have a choice between a male and a female I've found that the older females usually bring more money than an old male since one male can breed multiple females. But when I choose a new snake I have to really consider if I want to work with that gene and if I like all the gene combos that it produces. The other thing I like are genes that are very obvious such as the pieds or clowns. Genes like pastel / fire / yellowbelly / orange dream confuse me since they all look similar to me. I'm sure with more experience I could probably tell them apart. Just because a snake is cheap and available doesn't mean that I'll add it to my breeding program.

If quality of the snake is equal then I would rather have the pastel lesser. More combinations are always great for a starting breeder. It's exciting to see multiple morphs when hatchlings emerge. And bananas seem to overpower so much in my opinion. Both are beautiful snakes and you can't go wrong with either.

Establish your goals and know your market if you intend to breed to sell, that the first thing YOU need to know to see if you should get either of those animals, no one can answer that for you.

Banana can be combined with other "high caliber" recessive morphs more easily to increase the value of the young (banana clowns and pieds for example) if it is het for something, but a lesser pastel isn't exactly bad either and is usually considered a standard "must have".

If you can afford it definitely get the clown, from what I've seen they're quite popular right now.

Clown is always a great recessive to have around.
