Sorry if you've addressed this before, but how did you secure the sky hide? Is it removable for cleaning? It's such a cool idea!

Mirror hangars I believe, check out this old thread on them.

So glad to see Roger is in a good loving home - kuddos to you for rescuing him.

About the sky hide - are those specific to carpets or would all snakes enjoy them. I've never put one of those up although wouldn't boas be too big/heavy for that?? I have mostly boas.

    Thanks

Lookin’ great! He reminds me of my IJCP, Moresby.

Does he “talk” for you when he’s out playing? My JCP and IJCP both make a variety of relatively quiet squeaky noises when they’re out, especially if they get excited. Fortunately I knew it was a possibility and didn’t panic...too much the first time, thinking it was an RI. [emoji846]

I would imagine any snake may utilize it?

    You are correct.

they really are cool and very interactive as you mentioned.

A while back my husband was laughing at me for having a conversation with Moresby, my IJCP. Moresby would say “pffft” at me, so I’d say it back. [emoji4]

Usually a couple times a week I let Rog just cruise around so I took some pictures the other morning. He's about 6' now and eats every 14 days. VERY mild temperament - he's super chill.

I'll move the jungle gym to his enclosure and open the door - whatever he wants to do next is up to him...

I sit with my back to him while working on the computer and occasionally turn to check on him - here he is scoping me out LOL
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...8/rogeren6.jpg

    Then he's off to explore...

    Nevermind the messy desk....
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...8/rogeren3.jpg

My desk during his adventure....yes, those are my my OCD temp, humidity, weight, feedings, shedding, urate/defication notebooks....1 for every snake
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...8/rogeren4.jpg

and the desk after he's moved on LOL
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...8/rogeren5.jpg

Then he's back across the jungle gym to explore the top of his enclosure before he goes back inside.

I'm really blessed to have rescued such an incredible carpet python.

Nice looking Carpet you have there BR80. It’s nice to see that you let him explore and reek havoc. :) He seems to appear like a typical Carpet that is in constant motion with minimal times of pause.
I really enjoyed seeing these photos. I felt like I was observing Roger in action.

Awesome carpet! I love the jungle gym too. I'd like to have one of those for my critters.

Thanks - Letting them explore a little is the least I can do, I mean we house them the best we can in enclosures that are large enough but they still need that enrichment and exercise.

Thanks - just 3/4" PVC - no glue so I can change it anytime. They also have smaller ones in the enclosures with them.
