Mice Breeding Help

So I needed a hobby to go along with keeping my snakes, so I decided to go with breeding mice due to having a ball that refuses ft meals.

I got the first male from the big box store and three females from my local exotic shop. After a week or two, I decided to get another male and two more females. Now I’m up to 2.5 on the ratio. The males are separated.

My main concern is that they aren’t breeding. They’ve been together for about three weeks now and from what I can tell, none of the females are showing. Any tips on how to promote breeding? Should I just be patient and let them do their thing?

I would give them more time. Sometimes it can take a few weeks or up to a month to get comfortable with their new colony mates. Normally I can tell when mine are pregnant about a week into the 3 it takes to have a litter.

Male mice aren't fertile until 6-8 weeks. A lot of pet stores in my area are selling 4 week old mice.

Females may have small first litters and/or eat them (leaving no trace): So I would not be concerned for a while.

Give it time.
I just started a 1.3 about 4 months ago.
Got my first litter from a 3 mommas about 3 weeks ago.
27 pups total.
All this extra work for my little male Champaign Mojave holdback that refuses f/t and wouldn't eat for 6 months....
After I get him up to about 5 or 600 grams the fight to switch will start again.

Also, the best ratio is 1.2. Too many in one cage makes for chaos, but usually 2 females will help each other.
