    Big mistake
Well wasnt sure if I should post here for the froggy forum but I made a major goof up today. Well I went out and picked up a couple of bull frog tadpoles to have my daughter watch grow up into frogs, then I would have a cool pair of frogs. Well I have 2 turtles that I keep in a 55gal I also keep several fish with the turtles. The fish and turtles do fine together for over a year now not one loss. Well is 20 min both tadpoles were lunch I to each turtle, so I have come to the conclustion that my turtles would eat the fish if the could catch them they are jsut lazy.

Oh no, your daughter wasn't too attached yet - I hope!?! Well she didn't get the science lesson you were hoping for, but there is always the food chain lesson. ;) Sorry to hear about poor little tadpoles.

.....so did you teach your daughter about the food chain then?...ha...could not resist :)

I tried to keep bull frog tadpoles a few times when I was a kid....never had any luck. They always seemed to bite the dust....I guess tadpoles are not a forgiving animal to care for :)

Ahhh, the joys of housing different species together. Sometimes it works, sometimes, obviously, it doesn't. At least now you know!

in general its not a good idea to put anything in there with your turtles. Fish are ok but they just create more waste for your filters, I like plecos because they clean :P. A GREAT number of frogs are toxic to turtles and the results can be fatal. To be on the safe side, you'd be best to keep their habitats separate.
