screen enclosure for ratsnake?

Greetings! My ratsnake is getting bigger and bigger, and she loves to climb. I currently have her in a nice Exoterra glass enclosure that is an adequate size length and width-wise, but it's not very tall. I had this wild idea of buying a chameleon screen cage to allow for greater room to climb. They are much much less expensive than tall glass enclosures, and much easier to find. She doesn't have the same temp/humidity requirements of my BP. The BP needs the glass to maintain humidity and temp. What do you think? Is this a bad idea, or do you think it would work?

Great idea for exercise (I'm assuming you don't mean a permanent home?) BUT I'm not sure that your snake can't push it open- how does in lock shut? Also, even the large size isn't very big.
But I've seen similar (much larger) screen "cages" for sunning, that zip shut (& often you can lock a zipper). Trying to remember where I've seen them...:confusd: but you can search, or make your own with a framework of PVC pipes & elbows, for example.

I just found this locally and I'm going to try it out as a playpen for the main area of our home. :-) If it doesn't work out I can always sell it. It's very nice and big for my curious, active snake. It looks pretty secure, too.

:gj: Noodles will have so much fun! :D

I picked up the "playpen" and had fun setting it up! It is really nice-looking in the livingroom. So far Noodle is less than impressed, but I think she'll get used to it and have a lot of fun exploring. I put in some live orchid plants, a small ficus tree, she has the water plants in her water. The light has a regular bulb in it so it won't get too hot-- but just in case I have it plugged into a temp probe on one of the branches to makes sure. Her old cage will be very boring after this. She already resists going back into it after she is taken out for playtime.
