Update on My snakes burns.

Hopefully will have photos with in the next couple days, every other day I wipe off her belly and help the dying skin off, the skin on her sides looks like it could scar :(, its white and a little different feeling, but I've been applying neosporin to the spots and keeping her cage more spotless than usual, I hope she eats this week and hasnt lost her appetite....thats what Im worried about most. :confused: Just wanted to let you all know, since you have helped me greatly.

Got an acurite also, keeping her temps and humidity as spot on as I can in a glass aquarium, cant wait til she is better so you can see her looking beautiful :sunny:

Her skin looks a little wrinkled around her neck, she is just almost done shedding, so could that be the cause? Her humidity is fine and Im supplying her with a change of clean water everyday....but could she be dehydrated?

I may have missed the post, but how she get burned so bad? Also, might help to up the humidity to shedding levels as well, read that it helps when they are recovering from burns.

one thing I wanna add for ya, I didnt want to bring your old post back form the dead, especially since you made this new one for an update of whats going on. It looks like in your old post you said you have a rehostat, which is good, but I wanna point ya to this site, this is the thermostat I use and its great, has a massive range of heat, has plugs for more then one unit, should you ever need it its a nice perk, and its VERY cheap compared to the many thermostats out there, and it works GREAT!

I wouldn't recommend that thermostat for a long term solution. With thermostats... you get what you pay for. It would be okay for a backup, but they have been proven to be unreliable and can be dangerous or deadly to your snake if it fails. Instead, I would suggest you save up to get a reliable thermostat like a Johnsons, Ranco, Herpstat, or Helix.

I'd offer her a smaller than normal meal until she's healed (why stress her with heavy digestive work) and if she refuses I wouldn't sweat it at all. She's been through a lot so a refusal might be expected really.

Thanks you guys, my rheostat is helping alot for now, and I've bumped up the humidity considerably. I plan on getting her a meal this weekend, the smallest mouse I can get my hands on, how can I get her more hydrated???? I spray her and she has a large water bowl, but she seems a little crinkly to me.

Any tips?

Make sure that her tank isn't too wet-- it can lead to scale rot.

Just make sure the tub/tank humidity is staying constant at around 50-60% and she has access to clean water, eats healthy prey that is well fed and well hydrated itself and I'm sure she'll be fine. Likely she's in poor condition due to the injury and stress. Once she's healed and has shed a couple of times she'll likely look fine again.

Just make sure you aren't oversoaking her. Sort of like when you sit in a bathtub for hours and you end up dried out, snakes can also lose moisture from being soaked too often or for too long a period.
