    My first bp (lesser bee)
Hello everyone just signed up and wanted to say hello and show off my beautiful male lesser bee. He is a little over a month old and is beautiful. I picked him up a week and a half ago and have him in a 30 gallon terrarium. Im using repti-bark as substrate and have a few hides for him. He has eaten 1 live hopper since i have brought him home and he had no problems taking it. I still havent decided on a name for him. Anyways i also have a corn snake and had a red tail boa as a child. I did tons of research before finding this beautiful lesser bee and had his tank set up a week before i got him to make sure all my temps and humidities were correct. I know the tank is a little big for him but i have provided him with a lot of places to hide. But any advice would be greatly appreciated or maybe even some name suggestions. Just want the best for my little guy.
Thank you for checkin him out.

Setup looks good. I have my balls in aquariums. I covered the screen top with duct tape except where I have a small heat lamp. I found that both belly heat and a small lamp work fine if you cover the top to keep the humidity up. My 40 gallons stay at 60-65% no problem.

Ya i just put some foil on top. But i havent had a problem with humidity. Just keeping a consistant temp. I was reading that someone used plasti dip for 3 sides of the tank and that helped insulate the glass. Im using a medium Uth and a 50watt red heating lamp. He seems to be hiding over toward the cold side and when i pull him out to hold him he seems really cold.

All my balls have individual likes and dislikes of temps. My calico spends most of her time on the cool side; my banana splits his time between hot and cool, my super pastel spends about 90% of his time on the hot side and my ghi spends the majority of her time on the cool. They may seem cool to the touch but that's normal. Our warm blooded hands make them feel cool but as long as you their cool side temps dont dip past 75* they're fine. I keep my snake room temp set at 75-80 so it makes it easy to keep up temps.
