My new ball python has arrived!
This is my new son, Saffron!

He was hatched on August 18th, 2018 (a bit older than I expected, but that’s not much of an issue), is eating adult mice, and weighs 170 grams. He is a super pastel.
So far he is very curious, hasn’t balled up at all, and is exploring his quarantine enclosure.
Does he look alright? Does he seem like a good weight for his age?
He was ordered from XYZReptiles.

(like he is, from 2018) is a plus, not a minus, IMO. :sweeet:
Thank you so much! And since this is my first snake, I’m definitely glad it’s a bit older. Can’t wait to watch him grow!

ESPECIALLY for your first snake, you chose well, as far as I can tell. But do check him thoroughly & repeatedly for mites in the cage or on him, just in case.
Keep his cage on the "sparce" side (on white paper towels for substrate, no plants- fake or otherwise, & no wood decor that mites can hide in for a while to be safe).

I don’t know how I’m going to survive without handling this boy! I was originally planning on waiting for 3 successful meals to handle, but would a little more than a week suffice?
