This poor little fella was sold to me looking a tad on the skanky side from a local store labeled as a "zebra-knee" though he didn't appear to be. He appeared emaciated from the get-go but he'd been doing real well - dug himself a nice burrow, ate and was active topside at night venturing out to drink etc. Got home from work today to find he'd come out of his burrow (which he never did in daytime) and laying curled up in what appeared to be the death curl. Periodically his legs will go through a series of alternating movements like he's rubbing his stomach and he will be still again for a while. Light prodding produces another round of feeble leg movements like that and maybe even what might be an attempt to crawl. Should I transfer him to an ICU though he's still moving every now and then or wait it out? Or is it most likely the inevitable end of him? :(

oh man, your poor little guy is so skinny. i'd be apt to just leave him be for now i think--i'm not sure exactly what you could do to help him recover. perhaps place a hide or something over him so that he feels secure at least. i've never had to nurse a tarantula back to health, so that's all i really know to tell ya. i hope he pulls through!
