Beautiful ammie but woah! that first photo gives me shivers. I would never let any snake, especially a species known for unpredictable bites like an atb get near my cat's face.
Didn't you have a blood python bite one of your cats too?
Just... please be careful. Better safe than sorry.
It will be interesting to see how that one turns out as an adult. I wonder how much darker and more filled in the pattern will get and if the red goes more orange? I suspect it will.

Re: A Little Red ATB
No worries, I watch. (: I totally understand the concern!
My borneo did bite her, though that was a somewhat different situation, as I had no idea the cat had walked in and the snake was draped over my lap while I was occupied in his enclosure. Lots of precautions are now taken so that she and the bigger snakes have 100% zero possible contact! It also looks like I was putting the snake in her face to sniff in that photo... she was just there and leaned in for a sniff while I was trying to get a pic while holding him in the light. I won't let anything like that other incident happen ever again, the anxiety that caused me, wow! I sometimes worry that the cat will be in my room one night (as usual, she sleeps with me) and somehow my lazy fat borneo will manage to knock the glass out and something will happen. 😅 Heck, thinking about Brian Barczyck's dogs running around the shop where they could get near the big snakes or RJ the alligator gives me some anxiety. Don't get me started on when he takes the big snakes out and is handling them right there where the alligator is!
Okay I'm done with that little rant...
Speaking of being a species known for unpredictable bites, I am stunned by his attitude! He is just a little babe right now. He hasn't struck in two or three months now, and I take him out once or twice a week to see how he's doing. He tracks everything that moves of course, which is totally comical honestly, it's funny when you turn your head and he suddenly turns to look and slooowwlyy reaches out for your face. My boyfriend, who didn't even want to have a nip to the finger, was letting him stretch out and bump his nose with his, haha. He sure won't be doing that when he gets bigger!
I'm looking forward to seeing how his colour and what-not change over time, it will be cool to look back and compare to older photos. :)
He's quite difficult to get a good clear picture of, lol. Since he likes to do this... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0f1223b506.jpg

Re: A Little Red ATB
We have an adult male calico ATB that behaves like that. He tracks everything that moves, but he's never once struck at one of us. We can open his terranium, move things around, move him, clean, etc. and he just sits and watches us. When we're holding him, he reaches out to people and things like that as well (kind of like a Ball, really). The only time he gets in strike position is when it's feeding time (he's got his schedule down pat). He'll figure-S and wait for the food and strike at it, but that's it. We actually don't know how he became as tame as he is because we bought him at a trade show from a lady whose husband had bought him from a breeder. She didn't know much about his previous life (other than that he was "nice") and her husband wasn't with her. It's funny, because we actually made them prove to us that he was nice because of our previous experience with our other ATB. She'll strike at you through her glass for simply walking across the room.

He looks great Fraido. :) That second photo looks like he tagged your thumb, or was that from something else?
