Another Advice Question

I have an Enchi Lesser Spider male. What would be a good female/s to get for him.
I know I can go and play on WOB or Morph Market, but I would like to know what you all would do if this boy were yours.

Are any of the females in your sig link up to breeding size?

Do you want to buy another female for him or use what you have?

How do you feel about some of the spider morphs - by that I mean do you like the look of bumblebees, stinger bees etc. The fact the male has spider makes me think you would be ok but I thought I'd better ask.

From your list I'd be tempted to try him with the pastel enchi girl, both yellowbelly girls and the bumblebee if possible. Some good genetic enhancing/ revealing combo's from the yellowbelly and some pretty morphs to sell from the pastel enchi and bumblebee.

Enchi, spider and lesser are codominant mutant genes. Even mated to a normal female, the chances are 7 out of 8 that a given baby will not be a normal. You shouldn't mate him to a spider or spider combination (such as bumblebee) female. Avoiding that mating means avoiding the chance of getting any embryos with a pair of spider genes (lethal). A mojave would be a good choice if you want to get some blue-eyed leuchistics. I like pinstripes and pastels, but you can mate him to any female you like that has one or more codominant mutant genes.

Out of what I currently have in my sig, the plan is to breed him this season to my Super Pastel, Yellowbelly and Enchi Pastel girls.

@Dr del, I did think of pairing him with the Bumblebee girl, but am a bit worried by the lethal quality of the Spider Gene, as both he and her carry the Spider Gene.

What would the two of you suggest I buy for next season for him.
I was thinking something with GHI, Leopard, Clown or Banana, or any combination of those.
What are your thoughts?

Sorry to be so late replying. I haven't been on this forum the last few days.

This year's breeding plans sound fine to me. Bumblebee is a combination of pastel and spider, so expect all the babies from the super pastel female to be either pastels or bumblebees or combinations containing one or the other.

I wouldn't get a clown for him next year because clown is a recessive mutant gene. But if you want to put clown into the breeding line, go ahead. Any of the others would be fine with me.

I guess it depends on hat you like.
If you like white color you can use a mojave or bamboo, orr maybe you like bright colors and you can use orange dream, pastel or banana.
And if you like pattern you can use pinstripe, leopard, clown, pieds.

There are hundres of combinations, maybe you should start telling us what you like?

I definitely would not pair him to anything in the Spider or other Neuro complex (Spider, HGW, Spotnose, Sable, Champagne). Some good options (not on your list) are OD, Blackhead and Leopard female combos. I love OD and Spider together. Chocolate is another great option our Chocobee is my favorite non recessive Spider combo we have.

From your list I like any of these with him:

0.1 Pastel Enchi
0.1 Butter
0.1 Fire
0.2 Yellow Belly

I am attracted to bright colours with funky patterns, if that helps. I have paired him so far with my Super Pastel girl, but have not seen a lock yet.

If you're looking for bright hatchlings you're definitely going to need to add some lightening morphs to the mix because all three of his morphs are more so considered pattern morphs and not so much bright. I think an orange dream firefly would be a really good option. If you want the best lightening gene and a morph that will insure your hatchlings will look just as good as adults, you should go with desert ghost. It won't be instant gratification because it is a recessive gene just like clown so it will take you at least two seasons to get your visuals but it's well worth the wait. It really depends on how much money and time you're willing to spend but an orange dream desert ghost will give you an amazing project with the potential for amazingly bright and beautiful combos with very high dollar values. Unfortunately it will not be easy to find a orange dream desert ghost female and if you do expect to pay in the thousands. If that's out of your budget, you could always just get desert ghost female, still won't be cheap at breeder size but the investment in a project like that will be well worth it once you're producing visuals. Whatever you do, at the very least make sure to get at least one good lightening gene in the mix with your female so at least you can get some nice bright hatchlings.
