    Mexican Boas
I am looking to get a CB baby or a pair of Mexican Boas - specifically the localities of Tamaulipas, & Tarahumara.

I was wondering if you all could suggest some breeders which have these localities? The only breeder I know of with both localities is Vin Russo/Cutting Edge Herps, but his are a bit hard to get, as he is so well known. So I would like to find other breeders who may not sale out so quickly.

I would try Tommy Carpenter at TC Reptile. I got my dwarf BC from him and he's a great guy and a great breeder, but a little lesser known than Vin. He specializes in locality boas.

I can second Tommy -- I spoke to him a while back, and he was quite nice. If he has any Mexican boas available this season, he would be a good source.

I can personally vouch for Vin Russo as a good Mexican boa breeder. I currently own a Sonoran boa I got from him a wee short of a year ago and she's been nothing but wonderful. It sounds like he's currently sold out of Tamaulipas boas for the year, but I would check back later. He may have some available if people fall through. His Cancun and Sonoran boas would also be worth a look if you're just looking for a Mexican boa (outside of a specific locality).

It sounds like Brian of the "Brian Boas" YouTube channel may have some Tarahumara boas available this year. I'm not 100% sure how to contact him, but his Facebook page is probably worth a shot.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

Michael Beach in Oregon (mbeach on FaunaClassifieds.com) also works with them and has a good reputation.

Well when I checked with him(Vin Russo) a week or so ago - as he said it was the litter of Tamaulipas born in June 2020 - that he had already sold out of. But that he is expecting another litter later in July, and some Tarahumara in August. But he said he does not do waiting lists - so it is first come first served. The Tamaulipas & Tarahumara Boas seem to sale out very quickly with him. So I will need to keep checking with him to see when they may be available.

I also plan on contacting Tommy(TC Reptiles) & Michael Beach on Monday or Tuesday about their availability for 2020.

In one of his latest updates that most likely he won't have any Tarahumara babies this year - as his female does not appear to be gravid.

Okay I have contacted both Tommy Carpenter (TC Reptiles) & Michael Beach. Both stated that they are not breeding Tarahumara Boas this year. But are planning on breeding them in 2021. Tommy also stated he is not breeding his Tamaulipas females this year either.

BTW - there was a pair of adult Tarahumara Boas for sale on Fauna Classifieds this week. And while I also contacted the owner - He informed me that they were spoken for. and have been sold.

    So my search continues.

I didn't think they'd last very long. No I didn't get them either though I was VERY tempted.

Yeah - it definitely seems that virtually ever Tamaulipas Or Tarahumara Boa I find get sold with in less than a day.
