    Salmontines....
Hi, I'm considering purchasing a male Salmontine, he's 75% hypo columbian and 25% argentine. I'm not that familiar with this combination. Does anyone know what their typical adult size is? Breeder said males are between 5-6 feet. What about temperament?

    Thanks so much

Dredging up the things I can remember: Salmontines are actually a bit of a hybrid snake, a mix between two boa subspecies/localities: occidentalis and imperator.

Argentine boas tend to be a bit larger than their BCI counterparts - I think males can be around 7-8 feet. They also tend to be a bit more temperamental - moody and hissy and bitey.

In all honesty, there's probably no way to really tell how big he will get, nor what his temperament will be like. He has less of the occidentalis blood in him, so I would imagine he would take after his imperator parent more. But all snakes are different...

I'm sure he's very pretty, if nothing else! I think Argentines are some of the most beautiful snakes ever.
