    Training for venomous snakes
Hi, my name is Brandon Smith. I am in the shrevport/bossier louisiana area. I have been trying to find anyone in the area that has a venomous handling permit and can train. I'm eager to learn and want to find a mentor. I understand the risks involved with venomous snakes but I am set on learning and getting the training. The reason I want to learn and get training is because I want to handle them and be able to educate others in the future. I would love to have my own personal venomous collection, nothing huge but two snakes I would love to have are the monocle cobra(Naja kaouthia) and the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus adamanteus).

    Anything helps!

    Thank you.

Not many hot keepers here. I have seen some that did in the past but nothing that I recall lately that still are. Have you looked for a forum for such things? I never have but would guess there has to be one out there.

I was thinking the same thing- it's been quite a while since any posts about hots here, & there never were very many. There ARE forums that focus on hots, & I should think you'd have better luck making contacts there. Best do your own search- it's been a long while since I've paid them any visits.

Contact your local zoos an such. I know you have several gator parks, zoos and an aquarium in your AO. Does your County have animal control? In LA snakes are common and Hots are in the mix.

    Good luck!

Try PMing one of our members named Neal. He hasn’t logged in here in a while, but might get a private message notification if you send him one.

    Re: Training for venomous snakes
I have searched for venomous forums, I have posted in a couple, just figured I'd give it a shot on here. Noticed there were a few post 2018-2019, figured I'd see if anyone on here knew anything.

Thank you, I'll keep searching venomous forums!
