Well.... I just realized that I need a new snake. It's a thirst I have, I doubt it'll ever be quenched. So I'm doing some looking around and have made a list of snakes I'd like. So please, help me pick one.

    Amazon tree boa
    Mangrove snake, rear-fanged
    Carpet python, coastal
    Dumeril's boa
    Macklott's python

    These are maybe's:

    Jampea dwarf retic
At least a 5.5 foot female ball python
A smaller species of scrub python

Any opinions? I might add a couple more.

I say get a Carpet. But instead of a coastal get an Irina Jaya first. They have attitude and can be prettier than the best of the jungles. coastals are awsome too. Bu tI say get an irain first.

Right now here's what it's been reduced to:

Amazon tree boa, small and will do great in a big rubbermaid.
Mangrove snake, best looking colubrid, mildly venomous, but not enough to cause extreme damage.
Coastal carpet, big, and something I'd love to have.
A macklott's python, I've had my eye on these for about a year.

Have you gotten anything yet? Out of those choices, I would go with a Coastal carpet, but then I don't like to get bit, so that influences my choice!

LOL, right now I guess I'm out of luck for the moment. I need to save all the pennies up for something. I'll probly go with the GTP though. It's been my dream to own one since I was eight. I spotted them in a book i had on pythons, fell in love with them and ball pythons. I think greens have got to be the most amazing snake on the planet, and balls have to be the best to keep. I might go with an amazon tree just to get the hang of arboreals like that. Maybe it wouldn't be so wise to jump right into GTP's, but then again I'm sure either way it'd be fine.
