Cool fish. Could never get one around here.

    What were you feeding it?

Thanks. Yeah, all snakeheads are banned in every state of the USA unfortunately.
He is on frozen mussels and frozen silversides ATM, growing pretty well.

I love snakeheads!! I had one years ago, probably around 2002 sometime I had a buddy getting rid of it. I ended up keeping him for years. He was an awesome fish. If I had to venture a guess he was probably 18-20" and about the diameter of an adult King snake.

Probably one of the coolest fish I ever kept. I had piranha, a fresh water ray, a needle-nose gar, a small mouth bass, as well as the more common Oscars, Dempseys, terrors, etc...

I know they don't compare, but I've tried to satisfy my snakehead desires with a pike. Not the same, I know. But, they always seemed similar to me.

Wow, I'm sold...that's an awesome fish! Yours looks different (prettier, w/ stripes?) from the photos I've seen of "snakehead" fish getting all the bad publicity.
I guess I can understand the ban here in the U.S. though...it's unfortunate that people just cannot be trusted not to release invasive species. Thanks for
sharing- I really love how alert he is.

They do get pretty when big, some turn really blue...
Ime some wolf fish act alot like snakeheads, curupira, reds and even aimara can be very active species.
