He might be over 300 now. I had not posted his latest weight pic so here it is with him being just under. He is eating just fine on the rats. He is taking 2 now. I think the rats are considered fuzzies as for their size. I still have about 25 of them left. I am going to keep using them to use them up. I have some rat pups left over that I hope he will be big enough for when the fuzzies run out.

I have been really busy with work so I have had to skip a feeding or 2 but he still takes them without much trouble. I think he would still take a mouse over a rat. He is a hungry boy so he has not been picky about the rats.

I fed Pyro 2 rat fuzzies yesterday and he took both without any trouble. I still take him out of his enclosure to feed him because it's easy it for me to feed him this way and feed my other 2 snakes.

I also made a short video of Pyro following my finger. He does this all the time either in his enclosure or in the animal tote. He had already eaten both rats but if I would have done this before he ate, he would have probably came up and try to bite my finger. The few times he has done so he immediately let's go and the looks at me like "your are not food, where is my food".

    Pyro finishing his 2nd rat.

Fire- I'm just curious, what are the advantages and how is it easier to feed outside the enclosure as opposed to inside the enclosure? Also, how long do you wait before putting the snake back into it's regular enclosure? Are your snakes still in feeding mode when you move them? I used to feed in a separate bin too but it got to be too much of a hassle especially once I had multiple snakes.

I could feed him in his enclosure but I get him out because he is usually in a paper towel tube and his tank has a bunch of fake plants to provide clutter in his tank. It makes it easier to me since I am giving him 2 rats to give him one and while he is eating it I can check/add water for him and the others, spot clean if needed, and any other husbandry maintenance.

Pyro is the only one I feed out of their enclosure.
To put him up, I carry him in the tote to his tank. I just pick him up and hold him down near the floor and let him go wherever he wants to. He is still in food mode and it takes ALOT to fill him up. He will inspect my hands to see if I have another rat but he has never tried to eat my hand other when I trick him like in the video. I have only ever had him get completely full where after I put him back he just stretched out up against the front of the tank and stay for 6+ hours.

I have not researched if getting him that full is good for him or not. He would pull up a chair to the snack bar if you would let him and eat all the time.

Pyro has broke 300g and is well on his way to 400. I was checking on him and saw that he shed. He was weighed and fed.

I shut down my 120gal fish tank after 10 years of having fish. I had this fake log in the tank. I cleaned it up and put it into Pyro's enclosure. He has been crawling all over and in it so far. He has not used it as a hide yet though.
