    Shedding, no cloudy eyes
I have a four month old spider ball python who is (I believe) shedding.

He is very small, about the size of a 2 month old. For the first four months of his life he would barely eat (once every two or three weeks). I caved and began offering live ASFs a month ago and he is finally eating every 5 days. Yesterday I offered him F/T and he took it no problem. So anyway, because he has barely grown his last shed was three months ago. I woke up one morning and there was his shed. I figured I just wasn't paying attention at the time and was just glad his shed was good and in one piece.

This time I have noticed some changes. He is darker in color, his belly and blushing is yellow and pink. His skin feels tight and wrinkly. All of this shows signs for shedding, but he has been like this for 5 days and there is still no sign of cloudy eyes. Three days ago I began raising his humidity just in case.

But is this normal? Could it have to do with his eye color? He has hazelish yellow eyes. All my other snakes have blue, blue/green, or black eyes. So I was thinking it could be the eye color. Should I be concerned? His last shed was fine but I do not want him to have retained eye caps or go blind.

Some snakes take longer in different stages. They can stay in pre-shed longer before they go blue. Or when they are in blue they can be like that for a while too. My banana enchi doesn't go into blue at all he just starts to shed. Just monitor him closely.

It varies depending on the individual. I have a bigger normal who has milky eyes (and an attitude) the whole time, and then I have a mojave who gets pink belly and that's it. You just learn what to look for and adjust accordingly.

Banana enchi eh? That is something i have never seen. I had to look it up on WOBP out of curiosity. Lovely combo.

I tend to miss my Coral Glow going into blue as well, either it happens so fast and I miss it or perhaps they just don't. Now Pieds there's no mistaking, the first time he turned bright Pink I was worried it was something else! BEL's must be the same way but I don't have one of those yet.
